Anaya Darr (she/her)
Anaya Darr is an English major with a concentration in Writing Studies. She started working at The Writing Center during the spring 2024 semester and has been a student manager since fall 2024. She is from York, Pennsylvania. In her free time, she likes to read, play on her nintendo switch, and get coffee with friends. After college she hopes to go back and get her masters degree!
Fun Fact: Her favorite color is green.

Anna Jessel (She/Her)
Anna is a secondary English education major with a minor in theatre. She started working as a Writing Center tutor in Spring 2023 and has been a student manager since Spring 2024. Anna is from Beaver, Pennsylvania, a suburb to the west of Pittsburgh. She enjoys reading, writing, and theatre, hoping to attend a graduate program for dramatics and/or directing after she graduates from Millersville.
Fun fact: Anna has played the cello since 2014.

Ariana Colella (They/She)
Ariana is majoring in Secondary English Education at Millersville. They started working at the Writing Center as a tutor Spring of 2024. Ariana is from Levittown Pennsylvania, a town not far outside Philly. Because of this they were often able to go to concerts, which bred her love for live music. She also enjoys reading romance books, listening to her favorite musical Wicked, crocheting, and starting her own zoo. They have two birds named Mama and Papa, two hamsters named Jelly and JamJam, and a silly dog named Teddy. As a student with learning disabilities, Ariana strives as a tutor (and future educator) to show students that it’s okay to ask for help, as she herself often needs help too.
Fun fact: Ariana has every book printed by Ali Hazelwood, including a special edition that’s not released yet!

Devin Sparwasser She/Her)
Devin is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Criminology at Millersville University. She is from Quakertown, PA, and she enjoys singing, playing instruments, and writing and reading for pleasure. At home, she loves to spend time outside (when it’s warm!) with her two labradoodles, Bailey and Rosa. On campus, she is also a mentor for first-year students, part of both the University and Cantilena Women’s Choirs, and an Integrated Studies Coach. She is a new tutor that just started at the Writing Center! In the future, Devin hopes to pursue a career in School Psychology.
Fun Fact: She has published a poem in the student-run journal The Gleaner at Delaware Valley University. -
Jake Long (He/Him)
Jake is majoring in English with a concentration in Writing Studies. He is from Lancaster where he used to run through corn fields and attempt to herd sheep (it didn’t work). At the writing center he once was the manager of the Blog, which was a big hit with fans, trust me. But now, he is a member of the tabling crew, so look for him in the library at a table on Fridays. He works for the Made in Millersville Journal and is in the process of creating a writing Instagram that features weekly comics. After Millersville, he plans on getting an electrical technology degree and entering the workforce.

Jayden Burnside (He/Him)
Jayden is majoring in Secondary English Education and has a minor in ESL Lingusitics. He has been working at the Writing Center since the Spring of 2023. You may see Jayden in front of the Writing Center tabling as well! Jayden commutes to campus from York Pennsylvania. Outside of the Writing Center, Jayden plays saxophone in a band with one of the other tutors Jake Long! He also enjoys writing and being with friends. After college, he plans to find a position as a High School English teacher!
Fun Fact: Jayden collects Vinyl records, CDs, and Cassette Tapes!

Mandi Laudenslager (She/Her)
Mandi is an English and Journalism major here at Millersville and is from Kutztown, PA. In her free time she loves to read romance novels, binge watch shows, and scroll for hours on BookTok! Also on campus she is involved in Expressions Dance, the Made in Millersville journal, and is a Writing Center tutor. In her future, Mandi hopes to pursue a career in entertainment journalism and publishing!
Fun Fact: Mandi is a book influencer!

Pierce Mayew (He/Him)
Pierce is majoring in Secondary Education in English. He started working at the Writing Center in the Fall 2024 semester, and has loved being a part of the team ever since. He also is inundated in the theater community at Millersville, taking part in Millersville’s All Campus Musical Organization (ACMO), University Theater’s productions, and is also a member of Villeharmonics, one of Millersville’s three acapella groups. He is from Clayton, Delaware, about three hours from Millersville. He enjoys acting in his spare time, and wishes to pursue both teaching and acting in his professional career.
Fun Facts: Pierce loves to snowboard!

Rhia Brown (She/Her)
Rhia is majoring in English with a minor in Film Studies at Millersville. She is from York, PA, and her biggest hobbies typically include writing and playing games; video games mostly, but she also collects card decks! With any other freetime, she enjoys making her own music, upkeeping her Letterboxd, reading literature, and taking care of her dog. She is a part of the Film Club at Millersville, and hopes to have the time to join more clubs in the future. She enjoys singing, dancing, and acting—separately, but also altogether in theatre. R.E.N.T. is her favorite musical, which she has been in a high school production of before. She is a new tutor at the Writing Center, but has already loved her time there. In the future, she hopes to work for a video game company!
Fun Fact: She is currently working on making her first video game with her friends.

Sloane O'Malley (She/Her)
Sloane is a Secondary English Education major with a concentration in English Writing Studies. She’s from Newville, Pennsylvania, a small rural town in south-central PA. A new tutor, she just started at The Writing Center in Spring 2025. When allowed free time, she enjoys reading and writing (obviously), crocheting, watching new films, playing Skyrim and Yahtzee, collecting stickers and pins, and thrifting. She’s big on environmental sustainability and advocates for our planet when she can. After she graduates, Sloane hopes to be teaching in a local PA high school by the following fall and living with her boyfriend/best friend, with a large bookshelf and a cat or two.
Fun Fact: Sloane has two tattoos (a bee and a ladybug) and hopes to get more bug tattoos.
