Teaching ESL Listening and Speaking (English 460)
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- identify and discuss features of spoken English, various methods
and activities for teaching speaking and listening - plan effective lessons and courses which focus on ESL speaking and listening
- incorporate aural and visual media effectively in teaching, and
- identify and discuss current problems and issues related to the teaching of ESL speaking and listening,

Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- identify and discuss essential foundational concepts in language teaching and principal approaches to ESL teaching, both past and present
- apply techniques for teaching language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar) to practice,
- identify and discuss issues relating to learner factors and teacher’s everyday classroom performance,
- demonstrate decision-making and problem-solving abilities in a broad range of teaching contexts through reading and generating case studies.
