If You Need A Tutor

If you would like to be assigned a tutor, go to the Language and Culture Studies office (McComsey 238) and fill out the appropriate forms or access this link: https://forms.office.com/r/6ezfKhX6x2.   An upper-level student will be assigned to you. The tutor is paid by the University for this work; the service is free to the tutee. Please be conscientious about meeting times, notifying the Tutoring Coordinator at 717-871-7154 if you are unable to attend a session or if you are going to be late. Failure to attend 2 tutoring sessions without a valid excuse will result in automatic loss of tutoring privileges. All tutoring sessions are held on campus in the Language and Culture Studies tutoring room.

If you would like to be a tutor

If you would like to BE a tutor, please apply at the Department office. Requirements are a GPA of 2.7 or above overall, 3.0 or above in the language to be tutored; a grade of at least A or B in the course to be tutored, and preferably, upper-level status. You may also apply if you are a native speaker. Your application will then be reviewed by the Tutoring Coordinator and appropriate faculty member and if approved, you will be contacted concerning your possible tutees. You will be expected to confer occasionally with the tutee's professor and the tutoring coordinator as to progress and problems, if any. All tutoring sessions are held on campus in the Language and Culture Studies tutoring room.
