Lyman BrennerLyman R. Brenner ’71 is a dedicated donor who has created a variety of scholarships to benefit Millersville University students. The Richard F. Brenner 1941 Industrial Technology Scholarship was established in honor of his father, and Brenner honored his grandfather by establishing the J. Elvin Brenner 1909 Education Scholarship. Additionally, Brenner established The Lyman Brenner ’71 History Scholarship, which is awarded to a rising sophomore majoring in history, with second preference to a social studies major.

In recognition of his full-time volunteer work with both veterans and youth in Delaware, Brenner was nominated for the Millersville University Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumni Award. As a past chairman of the Department of Delaware Boys State Program of the American Legion, Brenner actively organized and ran the program that provides opportunities for students to learn about the government and the state of Delaware. Brenner is a veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He is a retired teacher and taught at Crownpoint Community School in Crownpoint, New Mexico, on the Navajo Reservation, and at Little Wound High School on the Pine Ridge Reservation in Kyle, South Dakota.
