HCSA

Honors College Student Association

The Honors College Student Association is a student run Millersville University organization whose purpose is to promote interaction among students, to serve Millersville University and the surrounding community, and to cultivate the intellectual development of its members. Members of the Honors College are automatically granted HCSA membership based on their credentials of being an Honors student at MU. While the primary focus of the Honors College is enriching the academic life of its members, the HCSA acts as a compliment and provides a number of social opportunities. The HCSA regularly facilitates a number of trips and activities such as SkyZone, Hershey Park, paintball, corn mazes, and Field of Screams. In addition to the social opportunities, HCSA members vote on different charitable organizations to raise money for each year. The HCSA also has a fantastic time participating in the Homecoming parade and other campus events.

Additionally, the HCSA is very community service oriented. Members are required to complete community service hours from a variety of projects and activities that contribute to the surrounding community. The HCSA also provides a number of leadership opportunities to students through the executive board of the organization. Honors students have to opportunity to fill the following positions throughout their time at MU: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations, Historian, Fundraising, Community Service, Membership Retention, Mentor Chair, and Alumni Chair. Several of these positions also have committees that consist of Honors students who want to have a voice in their experience as a Millersville Honors student. As an extension of the Honors College, the HCSA aims at providing meaningful and memorable experiences for all members throughout their stay at Millersville.
