B.S. in Allied Health Technology - Pre-Athletic Training
Millersville University's Pre-Athletic Training program puts students on their way to the master's degree now required by the Athletic Training Strategic Alliance. MU collaborates with other graduate-level athletic training education programs in Pennsylvania to allow students to meet that requirement in five years.
Your journey toward becoming an athletic trainer will start under the tutelage of the passionate and knowledgeable faculty and staff at Millersville University. The Pre-Athletic Training curriculum offers an in-depth look into human anatomy, nutrition, general biology, wellness, sports science and chemistry. With that foundation, your course of study will continue with clinical education at a graduate-level athletic training program.
Pre-Athletic Training students at MU also have the opportunity to gain practical experience while providing medical coverage to over 400 collegiate athletes with a staff of physicians, certified athletic trainers and graduate assistants.
Following three years of coursework, students can apply to one of the select graduate programs. Upon the completion of your first year in that graduate program, students receive a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Technology with an option in Pre-Athletic Training from Millersville University. Students who continue this course of study earn a Master of Science in Athletic Training from the affiliated university after a second year of graduate study.
