Abstract: Seagrass meadows are vital ecosystems due to their many ecosystem services. However, anthropogenic activities, primarily nutrient loading, have led to massive seagrass degradation and loss. In Galveston Bay, Texas (USA), nearly 80% of the historical seagrass coverage has been lost, mainly attributed to increased anthropogenic runoff.
