Abstract: Title: Impacts of Automation: Manufacturing Jobs in the United States Problem Statement As industry continues to embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution, automation will become more and more integral to manufacturing. This adoption of automation into manufacturing will cause risk to jobs in manufacturing to rise. As a result of this, an examination of automation risk must be performed to determine the extent at which manufacturing jobs will be affected. The examination of this risk will help to provide potential automation risk evaluations for manufacturing across the United States on a county-by-county examination. This fine graded analysis approach is required since levels of automation are affected by a multitude of variables that vary on county-by-county basis. Goal The purpose of this research was to examine the risk to manufacturing jobs as a result of automation per county across the United States.
