Abstract: Although the book clearly demonstrates that women's relationship to food is at the heart of Italianness, it leaves open the question of how Italianness shapes women's relationship to food. This book explores the multi-faceted relationship between Italian women and food as depicted in nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty-first century media including novels, memoirs, cookbooks, women's magazines, television, and film.
