Rebecca Love
Name: Rebecca Love
Hometown: Etters, Pa
Anticipated graduation: 2024
Major: Environmental Biology
Internships/Research/Projects:
I am currently starting research with Dr. Horton and two other students on how PCBs impact tree swallows’ endocrine systems.
Inspirations (for major, research, internship):
Growing up I was always outside exploring nature; I was very curious to figure out how everything worked and was interconnected. It wasn’t until I took AP biology that I realized I could turn my love of nature into a career. My love of the environment and science is what inspired me to pursue my major of Environmental Biology.
Highlights (from courses/internship/research):
One of the highlights of my time here so far is the opportunity to be a biology mentor for BIOL 101 (Foundations of Biology) and BIOL 211 (Zoology). Being able to help others succeed in their course is very rewarding.
Advice (for incoming freshman in your shoes):
Don’t be afraid to speak up if you need help, in and out of the classroom.
Aspirations (upon graduation):
Upon graduation, I would love to work in wildlife conservation or attend graduate school to further my education.
Scholarships awarded while attending Millersville University
I have been awarded the Board of Governs scholarship.
