Senior Seminar
Senior Seminar
All physics degrees require two semesters of research into an area of physics (experimental or theoretical) chosen by the student. In addition to choosing a project, students choose a faculty mentor to supervise the project. Details vary, but typical requirements each semester are: attend and participate in the weekly physics seminars, deliver 2 short (10 minute) talks, deliver a longer (30 minute) talk and submit a written report . The department meets at the end of the semester and determines grades. This course provides experience in using communication skills and gives the student a chance to explore a major topic (and perhaps some lesser topics) in depth.
