Max Curtin Memorial MBT Recording Scholarship
Music Industry Scholarship
This annual award will be given to junior or senior students with a major in Music Business Technology. Recipients will be selected by the Chair of the Music Department or his/her designee.

The Max Curtin Memorial Music Business Technology Scholarship
Music Industry Scholarship
This annual award will be given to a junior or senior with a major in Music Business Technology. Given to one student for a full year of service in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Lancaster. Recipient will be selected by the Chair of the Music Department or his/her designee.

The Max Curtin Memorial Music Education Scholarship
Music Education Scholarship
This annual award will be given to junior or senior students with a major in Music Education. Recipients will be selected by the Chair of the Music Department or his/her designee.

Alan K. Wyand and Robert L. Shoener Scholarship
Music Education Scholarship
The student must be a music major with first preference being a double major with music education and applied music. Preference will be given to a student in financial need but is not required to receive the award. A current student could reapply, but the scholarship would not automatically be renewed.

Kathlyn Houlahan Kodaly Music Scholarship
Music Education Scholarship
Awarded as tuition to a full-time entering freshman who has chosen to major in music education. Recipient will be selected by the Music Department and chosen on the basis of performance excellence in musical skills and/or talent as demonstrated in their audition. Financial need may be taken into consideration but will not be the major criterion.

Jean M. Romig Violin and Viola Scholarship in Memory of Karl & Pauline Romig
Strings Scholarship
Awarded as tuition to a freshman music education major with demonstrated outstanding performance in violin and/or viola. Recipient(s) should also have a demonstrated involvement in musical activities in their community and beyond. An audition and application with personal statement describing excellence in scholarship and interest in the teaching of string instruments is required.

Robert N. and Darlene I. Ford Endowment for Strings
Strings Scholarship
Awarded to a student majoring in Music with an emphasis in string instruments. First preference is to a graduate of Penn Manor School District.

The Shaar String Scholarship
Strings Scholarship
Awarded to a sophomore or junior music education student who has demonstrated progress in the playing of a string instrument, shown an interest in the teaching of strings, and contributed to the musical enrichment of the University.

Lancaster International Piano Festival Scholarship
Piano/Harpsichord/Organ Scholarship
Awarded to two students each year, one international student and one student whose home of record is within the United States. Recipients must have declared either a piano performance major or music education major with piano as the major instrument. Recipients should have demonstrated advanced talent in and dedication to the performance of music for the piano as determined by a panel of faculty at the MU Department of Music. Recipients or Department of Music Chair should provide written documentation of what scholarly activity the scholarship has helped them achieve or support.

Ellen Currier Sellers Scholarship for Organ Performance
Piano/Harpsichord/Organ Scholarship
Awarded to an incoming freshman or current university student who is a keyboard major with preference given to music majors/minors studying organ. The scholarship may be renewed providing the student continues to progress in organ study and maintains at least a 3.0 GPA, and remains a music major/minor.

James H. and Lucretia Boyd Hartzell Piano Award Endowment
Piano/Harpsichord/Organ Scholarship
Awarded to a senior or junior piano student who possesses extraordinary talent, has shown considerable progress, and has contributed to the musical enrichment of the college community. Recipient will be chosen by the Music Department Faculty.

Dr. Anita Boyle Renfroe Music Scholarship
Piano/Harpsichord/Organ Scholarship
The scholarship will be awarded to a student who is a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 overall and a minimum gpa of 3.5 in music. The recipient will be a music major with a performance area in keyboard (organ or piano). Recipient will be selected by the chair of the music department or his/her designee.

Music For Everyone - Gary S. Miller Percussion Scholarship
Percussion Scholarship
This annual award will be given to a junior or senior. Must be a percussion major in Music Education. Recipient will be selected by the Chair of the Music Department or his/her designee.

This annual award will be given to a junior or senior. Must be a percussion major in Music Education. Recipient will be selected by the Chair of the Music Department or his/her designee.

B. Jeanne Elder Voice Scholarship
Voice Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time undergraduate student who has chosen to major in voice on the basis of excellence in scholarship (utilizing High School GPA and classes undertaken as well as nationally recognized test scores for entering freshman and overall and major GPA for upperclassman) and vocal performance skills and/or talent. Financial need may be taken into consideration but shall not be the major criterion. The scholarship is renewable at the discretion of the department for up to three additional years.

R.Clinton, Dorothy Hughes, Kathryn Hughes Seaber Vocal Scholarship in Honor of Jean Bradel
Voice Scholarship
Awarded to a freshman vocal music major. Financial need may be considered, but is not required. The award may be renewed for three years, providing the student remains a voice music major in good academic standing and progressing toward graduation.

Michael W. Eisenberger Choir Award Endowment
Voice Scholarship
Awarded to a senior choir member. Recipient must be elected by choir members and exhibit leadership, musical ability, and friendliness.

Sal Micciche Music Scholarship
Clarinet Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to an incoming freshmen or returning student majoring in music performance with primary focus on the clarinet. The recipient will be required to audition. If no student meets this criteria, the second preference would be for a student majoring in music education. Recipient to be selected at the discretion of the Department of Music Chairperson or his/her designee.

Awarded to a student majoring in Music with emphasis in piano or voice. First preference will be to a student of an under represented population.

General Instrument Scholarship
Awarded to a student majoring in Music.

Joseph Oberly Jr. Memorial Family Music Award
General Instrument Scholarship
Awarded to an incoming freshman or sophomore student in good academic standing in the Music Department. First preference should be given to a student with focused training on the accordion, keyboard, piano and/or guitar.

Irwin Weinhold Music Endowment
General Music Scholarship
Awarded to at least one student who is an active participant in the music program. First preference is to those majoring in Music. The award is renewable and may be received for a total of eight semesters, provided the student remains in good academic standing and involved in the music program.

The Judge & Mrs. Anthony R. Appel Scholarship
General Music Scholarship
Awarded to at least two music majors at Millersville University with preference to students with demonstrated financial need. The recipients must audition with the Music Department. The scholarship is renewable provided the students continue to major in music and remain in good academic standing. The students may receive the scholarship for a total of eight semesters.

Dean Dutcher Music Scholarship Fund
General Music Scholarship
Awarded to incoming freshman students who maintain enrollment as full-time music majors at MU. Awarded in freshman year and continues for 4 years. Based on musical talent in art performance medium. Scholarship is applied to tuition only.

Awarded to the undergraduate music major who has best developed a musical composition based on one of Leo Ascher's original themes.

Awarded to worthy and deserving students who excel in music.

Louis Vyner Performance Award Endowment
General Music Scholarship
Awarded to a full-time music major who has been selected by an Audition Committee of the Music Department on the basis of outstanding performance in the field of music and demonstrated academic excellence.

Awarded to a student in good standing who has demonstrated musical ability.

Walt Edwards Ashenfelter Memorial Music Scholarship
General Music Scholarship
Awarded to a first-year student majoring in the music program with a minimum high school GPA of 2.5. Financial need is a consideration but not required. The scholarship is renewable. To renew, the recipient’s GPA must at the time of selection be improved by at least .15 points over the prior year until or unless the GPA reached 3.25 when renewal will be automatic.
