Victoria Ritter, oboe/English horn, is a prominent freelancer in the greater Baltimore-Washington and Pennsylvania area. She is a member of Allegro Orchestra of Lancaster and performs regularly with ensembles such as Lancaster Symphony, Pennsylvania Philharmonic, Apollo Orchestra, and Mind on Fire. Prior to moving to Baltimore, Victoria began her career in her home state of Illinois, where she performed with the Illinois Symphony Orchestra and BACH Society Orchestra. During that time, she had toured with the American Wind Symphony Orchestra, where she was a featured soloist.
In addition to performing, Victoria is TPTF instructor of oboe at Millersville, as well as adjunct faculty at the Peabody Institute, teaching degree minors at the Peabody Conservatory and students through their Preparatory. She is also oboe Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music at Franklin & Marshall College.
Victoria Ritter is a seasoned educational instructor; her students receive scholarships, awards, and performance opportunities throughout Maryland and DC as well as invitations to some of the most sought-after summer music programs. She has been a clinician and coach for chamber music ensembles, woodwind sectionals, and has adjudicated solo/ensemble and concerto competitions in Baltimore and Chicago. Ms. Ritter also makes custom oboe and English horn reeds for players of all levels and emphasizes reed making in her tutelage.
Victoria is a graduate at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where she earned her Masters in Oboe Performance under the instruction of Jane Marvine. She earned her Bachelors of Music at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, where she received a degree in Oboe Performance under the instruction of John Dee.
