MDST Proposal Process
Steps in the Individual Proposal Approval process
Students have the option of developing individualized and academically challenging concentrations unique to their own multidisciplinary interests.
The process for proposing an individual program of study for approval is as follows:
- Meet with MDST Student Initiated Program Advisor
- Consult with Designated Faculty Advisors, where applicable
- Second meeting with MDST Student Initiated Program Advisor
- Development of Curriculum proposal
- Third meeting with MDST Student Initiated Program Advisor
- Secure signatures for proposal
- Submit proposal to MDST Student Initiated Program Advisor (with current DARS or transcript attached, if applicable)
- MDST Student Initiated Program Advisor submits proposal to MDST Committee
- MDST Committee reviews, suggests revisions as needed, and then approves
- MDST Committee Chair signs approved proposal document and submits to Associate Provost for Student Success
NOTE: STUDENTS SHOULD NOT SUBMIT INDIVIDUAL PROPOSALS IN THE TERM THEY WISH TO GRADUATE. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE YOUR PROPOSAL WILL BE APPROVED IN TIME. PLEASE SUBMIT AT LEAST ONE FULL SEMESTER BEFORE YOU ANTICIPATE GRADUATION.
