Welcome to Homecoming 2024!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Millersville University's Homecoming 2024! Our volunteers play a crucial role in making this event a memorable and enjoyable experience for all. Here’s what you need to know before signing up:

Event Details:

• Date: Saturday, September 21, 2024
• Location: Millersville University Campus

Volunteer Opportunities & Requirements:

Shifts run 10am-12pm and 12pm-2pm unless otherwise stated.  We have a variety of volunteer positions available to suit different interests and skill sets, including:

• Parade Volunteer:  Organize participants, manage parade flow, and ensure safety protocols are followed.  Positions available for those who can walk 2 miles and those who need to stay stationary.  Shift is 6am-10am (includes brunch after)

• Activity Coordinators:  Help manage and supervise a specific part of Homecoming throughout the day.  Areas including check-in, navigation stations, block party, Maker's Market, and Bingo.  Shift runs 10am-4pm.

• Event Setup & Breakdown: Assist with setting up tents, tables, chairs, and other equipment before the event begins and/or help with teardown after the event concludes.  Must be able to lift and move 25 lbs.

• Check-In Stations: Greet/Register attendees, distribute materials, and provide information about the event schedule and locations.  Typing skills helpful.

• Event Navigation Staff: Provide information about the event schedule in a stationary, high-traffic area. 

• Block Party Hospitality Staff: Assist with guest counting and providing information about the event schedule in a stationary, high-traffic area.  Ensure area is clean and welcoming.

• Maker's Market: Assist with directing vendors during setup, guest counting and providing information about the event scheudule in a stationary, high traffic area.

• Bingo: Assist with registration and check-in for bingo.  Typing skills helpful.  Setup shift is 12pm-2pm, event shift is 2pm-4pm. 

Orientation: All volunteers must attend a mandatory orientation session where you will receive detailed instructions and meet your team leaders.

Age Requirements: Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Those under 18 must have parental consent.

Dress Code: Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Volunteer t-shirts will be provided and must be worn during your shift.

Skills and Attributes: We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable individuals who can work well in a team. No prior experience is necessary, but a positive attitude and willingness to help are essential.

• Registration: Complete the online volunteer registration form below. Early registration is encouraged as spots are limited.
