Millersville University Oral History Project

Every Marauder has a story, and Millersville wants to hear yours!

The Project

Every Marauder has a story, and we want to hear yours! With over 70,000 living alumni, it would take years to meet with each of you individually. That’s why we’ve launched Millersville Memories to collect alumni stories in your own words. These stories will be preserved in a book celebrating the impact Millersville has had on your lives. Each year we don’t capture these stories feels like a missed opportunity, so we’re excited to get started today!

Have You Moved?

As part of this project, we aim to help you stay connected to the 'Ville. PCI will assist us in collecting updated contact information from alumni who may have moved and lost touch with us.

Your Story

So what Millersville Memory will you share?

  • Did a special faculty or staff member have a profound impact on your life?
  • Did you find your sweetheart at the 'Ville?
  • Can you trace your career path back to a defining moment here?
  • Have connections you made on campus turned into lifelong friendships?
  • Were you on campus during a historical moment?
  • Are you a legacy?

PCI Partnership

With our limited resources, we couldn’t tackle a project like this alone. By partnering with PCI, we have access to their trained staff who are eager to hear your stories. PCI will also help collect and assemble these stories into the Millersville Memories book. Please note, we have only shared your contact information with PCI for this project. We have NOT sold your contact information or used it for outside marketing purposes.

Do I Have to Buy Something?

No. This project is at NO COST to our Alumni or to Millersville. It’s funded by alumni who choose to purchase the Millersville Memories book. Various book packages will be offered. PCI will also offer other Millersville branded merchandise like a blanket and pullover. You are welcome to purchase these items, but you are not required to do so to participate or order the book. We couldn’t embark on this project without the support of our amazing alumni and PCI’s partnership. We sincerely thank everyone who participates and chooses to purchase the book.

What’s Next?

Soon, you will receive emails and postcards from the PCI team with instructions on how to participate. We invite you to share your stories and take part in this unique project honoring our alumni's experiences and voices. The PCI team will collect stories until Dec. 31, 2024. After that, they will enter a post-production phase, editing the data. We hope to distribute the book in late spring 2025.

This is a great way to support the black and gold. We look forward to hearing from each of you regarding your "hymns of praise and loyalty!”

What to Look For

Below is an example of a postcard you will receive in the mail. This is an official postcard from Millersville, distributed by our partner PCI. Once you receive the postcard, please follow the instructions to update your information and set up an interview time to share your Millersville.
