Friday, August 22nd, 2025!
The Millersville Candle Lighting Ceremony is a cherished tradition that has united our community since the early 2000s. This inspiring event brings alumni and new students together around the scenic pond, symbolizing the passing of the torch from one generation to the next. As the candles are lit and the alma mater is sung, a sense of camaraderie and belonging envelops all participants, reinforcing the enduring spirit of Millersville.
This beautiful tradition began as a way to welcome new freshmen and offer them encouragement as they embark on their journey at Millersville. Alumni return to share their experiences and wisdom, reminding our new Marauders that they are not alone. The ceremony encourages students to persevere through challenges and to "climb though the rocks be rugged," echoing the supportive and resilient nature of our Millersville community.
We invite all alumni to join us for this special evening on Friday, August 23rd, from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Wear your Millersville gear or Greek letters, and bring your family to share in this meaningful tradition.
Register now to be a part of this inspiring night and to welcome our new Marauders into the Millersville family. There is no cost for this event; Registration required.
