Preparedness Day 2022

The CDRE held its annual Preparedness Day outside the SMC on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Participating students were able to make disaster go kits, and fill out disaster plans so they are better prepared for future disasters. Students were also able to meet representatives from Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), and Lancaster County Emergency Management Agency (LEMA), as well as learn more information about our student International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) chapter, our student American Meteorological Society (AMS) chapter, and student American Society of Safety Professionals chapter. After completing their kits, students were able to enter a raffle for many great prizes, and enjoyed some snacks. Attendees also got to hear from Michael Sharon, Chief of the Emergency Affairs Division at the USDA, and tour equipment from the university police and Blue Rock Fire Rescue. A great time was had by all, see photos below!
