Second Year and Transfer Student Mentoring Program
The Second Year and Transfer Student Mentoring Program matches Second Year and Transfer students with experienced peer mentors for academic and social support. Students are paired with mentors invested in their success-a person ready to listen, inspire, help navigate challenges and recognize opportunities. Students interested in connecting with a peer mentor can register here. Refer to the Mentorship Office website for more information about mentorship opportunities on campus.
The Thriving Project
What is Thriving?
“Thriving is an expanded vision for student success that incorporates students' intellectual, interpersonal, and psychological engagement and well-being while in college. Emerging from the intersection of research in positive psychology on flourishing (Keyes & Haidt, 2003) and Bean and Eaton's (2000) psychological model of student retention, thriving takes a holistic view of students and their college experience”. (Schreiner, 2024)
Students in their second year will be asked to participate in the Sophomore Experiences Survey through the Thriving Project. The survey is anonymous.
The survey asks second-year students about their learning experiences, academic goals, making connections on campus, and getting engaged in their community.
The Millersville survey will be open from March 27 through May 10. Surveys will be deployed to students via Starfish and campus email.
