Careers in Psychology
A Community career
Community psychologists are concerned with behavior in natural settings such as the home, neighborhood, and workplace. These psychologists seek to identify factors that may contribute to normal or abnormal behavior in specific settings. Whereas clinicians work with individuals who already show signs of a disorder, community psychologists tend to focus on preventing problems before they occur. Community psychologists may center their efforts on the population in general, or on groups of people who may be at risk for developing difficulties.
