Dr. Joel Winnick, Ph.D., ABPP, NCSP, HSP | MU Psychology
Dr. Winnick is a licensed psychologist. He is also a Board-Certified School Psychologist through the American Board of Professional Psychology and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist through the National Association of School Psychologists. Dr. Winnick’s clinical training includes a post-doctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and an additional post-doctoral fellowship at Geisinger Health System in Primary Care Integrated Behavioral Health. Dr. Winnick’s clinical work experience includes providing assessment, consultation, and intervention within pediatric medical specialty clinics at Geisinger Health System. While at Geisinger, Dr. Winnick achieved the rank of Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. Prior to Geisinger, Dr. Winnick worked for an Intermediate Unit within Pennsylvania as a school psychologist. Before completing his post-doctoral clinical training, Dr. Winnick worked as a Research and Evaluation Scientist at Penn State University where he focused on implementation science and translational research. Dr. Winnick’s current research interests include evidence-based assessment, consultation, and intervention for improving functioning across the areas of academics, psychopathology, and medical disabilities within school- and college-age populations. Dr. Winnick applies research approaches including implementation science, translational research, and program evaluation to examine the impact of evidence-based interventions delivered with high-quality and fidelity within school and medical settings. Currently, Dr. Winnick volunteers an elected executive officer of the American Board of School Psychology, a constituent Board of the American Board of Professional Psychology. Dr. Winnick also volunteers as the Communications Chair of the School Psychology Committee for the Pennsylvania Psychological Association.
Zhongxiu Yang, Ph.D | MU Computer Science
I am an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at Millersville University.
I earned my Ph.D. in computer science at the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2024, M.S. in computer science at California State University, East Bay in 2018, and B.S. in computer science at California State University, Fullerton in 2016. My Ph.D. advisor was Dr. Matt Gibson-Lopez.
My research areas include algorithms and computational geometry, specifically art gallery problem variants.
Ms. Kate Corcoran | MU Intercollegiate Athletics
Kate Corcoran was named Millersville University’s director of athletics in 2024. She comes to the 'Ville from Cabrini University, where she served as vice president of athletics and student engagement.
At Cabrini, Corcoran provided leadership in the areas of the student-athlete experience including residence life, student engagement and leadership, counseling and psychological services and health services. She also designed, implemented, managed and evaluated Cabrini's 18 intercollegiate athletics programs and oversaw the budget.
She started as senior associate director of athletics and senior women's administrator in 2016. In 2021, she was named director of athletics and recreation and became vice president of athletics and student engagement in 2022. During her time at Cabrini, the men's lacrosse program won the 2019 NCAA Division III Championship, and the department totaled 41 CSAC and Atlantic East Conference championships in six years. Eleven programs reached NCAA Tournament play. She successfully raised funds for several facility enhancement projects, and she launched the department's first week of giving, which topped its goal the following three years. She has also served on numerous NCAA committees.
Before Cabrini, Corcoran was the assistant director of athletics at Rosemont College and before that was the senior women's administrator, compliance officer and sports information director for Penn State University, Berks Campus. She started her career in collegiate sports as a basketball coach at Ursinus and later at Cabrini. Corcoran was a standout basketball player at DeSales University and a member of both the DeSales University and Middle Atlantic Conference halls of fame.
Corcoran earned a bachelor's degree in sports management/business administration from DeSales University and a master's degree in business administration from Rosemont College.
Dr. Yuan Li , Ph.D. | MU Accounting & Finance
Dr. Yuan Li is an Assistant Professor in Finance at the Lombardo College of Business at Millersville University. Dr. Li comes to Millersville University after completing her Ph.D. in Finance at Florida Atlantic University. Before pursuing her doctoral studies, she earned a Master’s in Economics from FAU and also holds an International MBA from Tsinghua University.
Before joining academia, Dr. Li accrued a wealth of experience in various finance and management roles. Her career has spanned significant positions such as a financial manager and an entrepreneur. In these roles, her expertise in financial decision-making was pivotal, encompassing the management of working capital, leading fundraising initiatives, and making strategic business decisions.
Dr. Li’s primary teaching areas include courses in principle and advanced Managerial Finance, International Finance, Investment, and Personal Finance. Her research interests include topics in Corporate Finance, Venture Capital, Market Manipulation, Financial Intermediaries, Institutional Ownership, and Financial Strategies for SMEs. Her work in Entrepreneurial Finance focuses on Venture Capital, Private Equity, and Corporate Entrepreneurship.
Dr. Allura Ralston, Ph.D. | MU Psychology
Dr. Allura Ralston graduated from Temple University with a B.A. in Psychology. She completed her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Yale University working with the Yale Pediatric Gender Program. Dr. Ralston’s clinical and research interests are related to understanding the experiences of transgender and gender diverse individuals. During her doctoral training, Dr. Ralston taught clinically-focused courses to undergraduate students. She has also enjoyed mentoring undergraduate students on their research. Dr. Ralston looks forward to continuing teaching and mentoring students at Millersville University.
Dr. Bryan Weinburg-Wonsidler, DNP, CRNP, AGNP-C | MU Nursing
Bryan Weinberg-Wonsidler is an Assistant Professor for the Wehrheim School of Nursing. He previously served as adjunct faculty for 2 years prior to becoming Assistant Professor teaching in the RN to BSN, MSN, and FNP programs. He is an alumnus of Millersville University, completing a Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2021, his Evidenced Based Project titled Improving LGBT+ Healthcare Education and Training for Healthcare Professionals: An Evidenced Based Practice Project. He began his career in nursing as a nursing assistant in 1995 and then went on to become a LPN, graduating from Grand Rapids Community College - Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2001. He graduated with an Associates of Applied Science in Nursing in 2005 and Baccalaureate in Nursing in 2013 from USNY Excelsior College. He then attended Wilkes University, graduating with a Master of Science in Nursing - Adult Geriatric Nurse Practitioner in 2017. He is nationally certified as an Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and a licensed Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner. Throughout his career, he has worked in geriatrics, traumatic brain injury, neurorehabilitation and became a Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse working in Neuroscience ICU, and LTACH before becoming a Nurse Practitioner. His current practices as a Nurse Practitioner in General Surgery and Bariatrics with Jefferson Health/Lehigh Valley Hospital since 2017.
