Pre-Athletic Training
Degree: B.S.
Start your journey toward becoming an athletic trainer with Millersville University's collaborative Pre-Athletic Training program.
Why Study This Program?
Millersville University's Pre-Athletic Training program will put you well on your way to the master's degree now required by the Athletic Training Strategic Alliance. MU collaborates with other graduate-level athletic training education programs in Pennsylvania to allow you to meet that requirement in five years.
Your study will start at Millersville for three years of coursework, and then you can apply to one of the select graduate programs. Upon the completion of your first year in that graduate program, you will receive a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Allied Health Technology degree with an option in Pre-Athletic Training from Millersville University. Should you continue your study, you would then earn a Master of Science (M.S.) in Athletic Training from the affiliated university after a second year of graduate study.
Pre-Athletic Training students can also complete all four years of their bachelor degree at MU before applying to any athletic training graduate school in the country.
“The athletic training program gives you a great feel for what that job is really like, all while building up to that level. That smaller numbers of athletic training students really plays to our benefit when compared to other athletic training programs out there, and it helps to create a supportive atmosphere. The classroom and clinical experience definitely prepared me for the next level, which in my case was graduate school.”
