SPOTLIGHT ON: TEAM BUILDING

Kick off Recruitment Week with a fun and engaging teambuilding activity! The orientation program is only successful when orientation leaders work well with one another, tackling challenges, building connections, and strengthening collaboration. This event introduces some of the activities used to promote group problem-solving, support and development, demonstrating how teamwork plays a key role in being an OL.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 04, 2025

6:00PM to 8:00 PM

OLs need to know a little about a lot of things. Test your knowledge about Millersville - with a twist! In this trivia game inspired by "Wits & Wagers," you’ll answer fun questions about our campus and wager on how close your friends’ answers are to the real answer. It’s part trivia, part strategy, and all about having a good time while learning more about Millersville. No need to know the exact answer—just make a smart guess and strategize your bets to win!

It's a fact that you can’t take care of others unless you first take care of yourself. Orientation Leaders are expected to share methods of achieving balance in their collegiate lives with incoming students. Unwind midweek with a sweet treat from the ice cream bar and create your own [SPA ACTIVITY] to take with you. Perfect for finding your balance and discovering how self-care fits into being an Orientation Leader.

Noon to 1:30 PM

Serving as an Orientation Leader creates a sense of belonging and community, which contributes to overall student wellness, including your own! We’re partnering with Letters for Our Elders to create and send cards and letters of positivity, hope, and affirmation to seniors living in long-term care facilities. Stop by and write a note that’ll make a senior's day! Don’t know what to say? We’ll provide examples and suggestions along with materials and take care of mailing out your missive.

Serving as an OL requires commitment. We're hoping you have become inspired to complete an OL application and commit to the next step of the selection process.

Wrap up Recruitment Week with a casual celebration! Show your application confirmation email and enjoy a soft pretzel, goodie bags, and exclusive “I Applied” labels as a reward for taking the first step toward becoming an OL.
