Presenter Information
2025 Made in Millersville Conference
Before April 8, 2025
The final conference schedule will be available online no later than Wednesday, April 2, 2024. The schedule will also be displayed on posters throughout the Student Memorial Center (SMC) on April 8.
All presenters must check-in at the registration table upon arrival in the SMC on April 9, 2024. That includes each member of a panel or group project.
A note to all presenters: These are your presentations. You are the experts. Please prepare for your presentations – write, plan, practice – repeat. This is a chance to share your work, knowledge, and insights. Have fun with it!
Presenters are welcome to join Made in Millersville staff during posted Zoom office hours for guidance on preparing and delivering effective presentations in all formats.
Guests are welcome! If you anticipate family and friends who are not MU students or employees visiting the conference, please inform them that all non-reserved/non-handicap parking places on campus will be open to general (non-permit holders) parking on April 8.
Please review the following for instructions by type of presentation:
Poster Presentations
Poster presenters, be prepared to explain the subject matter of your poster to many types of people – including a formal reviewer. Do not plan to simply let the poster speak for itself. The content of your poster is the beginning of the conversation with guests. Be prepared to offer information and insights that are not included in the poster. This requires the same preparation as an oral presentation or concurrent session. Please check with your mentor regarding poster conventions for your discipline.
Printing
The McNairy Library Digital Learning Studio (DLS) will print Made in Millersville posters for free. Please use the DLS Poster Print Request Form to request one or more copies of your poster. DLS will retain one copy of your poster for OGSPR to set up the conference. If you require additional copies of your poster for uses other than Made in Millersville, please be sure to indicate the total number of copies required on the request form. Made in Millersville will cover the cost of up to two posters per conference presenter.
Please visit the DLS website for guidance on creating your poster.
Digital files for poster printing must be submitted to Digital Learning Studio NO LATER THAN 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2024.
You may pick up your additional copies by arrangement with DLS staff. DLS hours and information can be found at https://www.library.millersville.edu/dls/.
If you do not use the McNairy DLS to print your poster, in order to ensure that everyone’s poster is in place and ready for viewing on April 8, the Office of Grants, Sponsored Programs and Research must have a copy of your poster no later than 4:00 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2024 (room 348 Lyle Hall).
On-Site Displays, Exhibits, and Demonstrations
Please bring materials to be displayed to the SMC Multipurpose Room on Monday, April 7 between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The MPR will be locked when no conference staff are present. If you are not able to drop off your materials on Monday, April 7, please contact MIM conference planning staff at Madeinmillersville@millersville.edu as soon as possible to make alternative arrangements.
On-Site Performances
Please contact madeimillersville@millersville.edu for instructions.
Synchronous Virtual Presentations
All synchronous virtual presentations will be conducted through Zoom. Once you have registered for the conference, Made in Millersville staff will schedule each presentation for a room and time in accordance with presenter’s preferred times and the rooms available.
Made in Millersville conference staff will then create a Zoom meeting in Outlook calendar and invite the presenter to join at their scheduled time. Please watch your email for the invitation.
Made in Millersville staff will start the meeting at the scheduled time. Presenters are expected to be in the meeting before the scheduled start time and be prepared to give their presentation when the meeting starts.
Asynchronous Virtual Presentations
Asynchronous presentations will not be assigned a time or room this year due to the high number of presentations. All Asynchronous presentations will be posted on the Made in Millersville schedule webpage for viewer access via their own devices on demand.
Zoom instructions for recording can be found here.
Please be sure to submit your recorded presentation in MP4 format to madeinmillersville@millersville.edu no later than Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
Conference Day - April 8, 2025
Check-in Required for All In-Person Presenters
You must check in when you arrive at the conference before your presentation. Class schedules may make for tight timelines, but please strive to check-in at least 15 minutes before your presentation – earlier is better – to ensure that you have adequate time to get to your room and launch your presentation.
All members of panels and other group projects must check in individually.
Also, you can check in at any time before your presentation. Presenter check-in will be in the lobby of the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) – watch for directional signage inside the Bookstore entrance and the Tower entrance. Presenters will receive name tags and Made in Millersville T-shirts when they check in.
Poster Presenters
You may retrieve your poster from the MPR after 4:00 p.m. and before 6:00 p.m. on April 8.
Displays, Exhibits, and Demonstrations
YOU MUST RETRIEVE YOUR MATERIALS NO LATER THAN 6:00 P.M. on April 8. If you are unable to do so, please contact us at madeinmillersville@millersville.edu in advance or find conference staff at the conference to make alternative arrangements.
After April 8, 2025
If you would like to retrieve your poster and cannot do so at the end of the day on April 8, you may pick it up after April 9 in the Office of Grants, Sponsored Programs and Research, Room 348 in Lyle Hall.
Presenters will receive an email request from madeinmillersville@millersville.edu to complete a brief post-conference questionnaire regarding your experience and personal outcomes. Your prompt response will be much appreciated and help ensure that Made in Millersville is a success each year!
