This section provides information and links to the various different departments and programs that the University has to offer for individuals with disabilities or special needs.
Americans With Disabilities Act

In keeping with this commitment, and in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If you need auxiliary aids and services for effective communication (such as a sign language interpreter, an assistive listening device or print material in digital format) or reasonable modification to programs, services or activities contact the ADA Coordinator as soon as possible.

Appeals resulting from an accommodation determination should be directed to the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer.

Academic Accommodations
The Office of Learning Services coordinates academic accommodations and related services for students with learning and physical disabilities, which can be requested by completing and submitting a Special Assistance Request Form.
Accommodations specific to test taking can be requested utilizing the Testing Accommodation Request form.

Academic Accommodation Eligibility
Eligibility for academic accommodations and related services for students with learning disabilities are coordinated by the Director and staff of the Office of Learning Services. Services may include but are not limited to academic accommodations, auxiliary aids, housing accommodations, and others.

Dining Services Accessibility
For elevator access to the Upper Deck and Lookout:
1. Pay for your meal or utilize a meal swipe at the check-in desk located at the main entrance.
2a. Request for the cashier to accompany the individual and use the card reader for entry into the elevator.
or
2b. Ask the cashier at the Anchor to contact the Anchor supevisor, who will provide elevator access.
3. When ready to leave the Upper Deck, ask the .......... to access the card reader at the elevator and proceed to the lower level to exit.
Short-term and long-term elevator access may be requested through the Office of Learning Services, allowing individuals to access the elevator using their personal access card. Learning Services at 717-871-5554 or by e-mail at Learning.Services@millersville.edu.
Trays are available at Station 2 of the Upper Deck and inside the Anchor.
Shopping baskets are also available at the Anchor.

Employee Reasonable Accommodations
A reasonable accommodation is a modification or adjustment to a job, the work environment, or
the way things are usually done that enables a qualified individual with a disability to enjoy an
equal employment opportunity. Residence Hall Accessibility
The residence halls are built to comply with fire/life safety and ADA regulations. Additionally, Housing & Conference Services staff work with the Office of Learning Services on issues related to placements, access, and logistics for individuals with access and functional needs.
Housing accommodation requests are handled through the Office of Learning Services in the same manner as academic requests, using the form below.

Service and Emotional Support Animals
Individuals with disabilities may use service animals and emotional support animals for a variety of reasons. A service animal means any dog, or occasionally a miniature horse, that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability, while Emotional Support Animals or Comfort Animals are often used as part of a medical treatment plan as therapy animals.
Service and emotional support animals are permitted based on the University Service and Assistance/Emotional Support Animal Policy.
