Master's Level Students Will Master:
- Historical knowledge
- Students gain knowledge of historical facts, learning about and recognizing the influence of environment, ideologies, economic forces, social organization, and cultural perceptions on historical actors and events
- Historiographical knowledge
- Students develop familiarity with major historical works, interpretations, methods, and or theories central to their fields of study
- Historical analysis
- Students learn to recognize patterns of change and continuity over time, identify different kinds of sources and their uses, and critically evaluate sources, interpretations, and arguments
- Historical research and writing
- Students master the basics of specialized, topical research, craft analytic arguments addressing historical questions, and present their findings orally and in writing
