- Serves as director of a research team of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows studying how bacteria grow.
- I enjoy travel, food, cooking, and reading.
- Proud owner of two rescue cats, one of which loves to spend time "working" with me in my home office.
- As an MU student I took three semesters of sculpture where I learned to cast bronze and participated in the student art shows.
- I am an aspiring woodworker who needs a lot more practice.
- Built a name for himself in microbiology by working to combat the threat of antibiotic resistance. Primary focus is understanding how bacteria build their rigid cell walls, which are important antibiotic targets.
- Earned his PhD in biochemistry at Texas A&M University and completed his postdoc at Case Western Reserve University.

My education at MU helped me build a solid foundation in fundamental science concepts that were critical for success in my career.
