Millersville University’s buildings are striking—ranging from ornate historic structures such as the Biemesderfer Executive Center to state-of-the-art facilities such as the Zero Energy Lombardo Welcome Center to the new suite-style housing. Throughout we seek to apply good planning and design procedures to create healthy, sustainable spaces within which to live, work and learn.
Zero Energy Lombardo Welcome Center
The Lombardo Welcome Center is Pennsylvania's first building to be certified as a Zero Energy Building with the International Living Future Institute. The building generates all of its own energy onsite using only renewable energy sources, standing as a clear testament of Millersville’s commitment to sustainability and to the goal of pursuing carbon neutrality by 2040.
Campus Energy Dashboard
Millersville University tracks our building energy use very closely, which allows us to identify problems as they occur and to make informed decisions about where to invest in improving building energy efficiency. While much of this happens behind the scenes, we've created a Campus Energy Dashboard that allows faculty, staff, students and the public to see energy use real-time for some of our residence halls and classroom buildings.

Demand Response Events
Hot summer days can stress the electrical grid causing brownouts or even blackouts. Millersville helps the grid operator respond to high-stress periods by reducing our electricity use. Learn More.
