Be the voice of your generation and tell the stories of the world in front of or behind a camera. Develop production expertise and gain a deep understanding of the tools and traits for success in exciting, competitive, and fast-paced media industries. Media Arts Production majors learn storytelling and content creation for radio, television, film and related industries: from concept to distribution: planning, writing, directing, producing, shooting and editing.

Our curriculum is designed to help students practice and reinforce industry specific skills and standards in a professional media workflow. As a student in the program, you will juggle projects, meet tight deadlines, and collaborate with production teams. Your end goal is success in the regionally and nationally growing media landscape.
Our facilities include a fully equipped television studio, a smaller studio for individual student and faculty projects, digital video and audio computer editing suites, two computer labs with current video and sound editing software and up-to-date cameras, lights, sound equipment and on-location production gear.
What You Will Learn
Hands-on classes, available your first semester, help you build production, writing and crew skills in a variety of media contexts that form the basis for more advanced class projects, such as radio news, public service announcements and documentaries. You'll also study the social economic, political, and cultural power of media to critically examine media products created by you and others.
As you advance in the program, you will hone skills in a variety of advanced media production courses and internship experiences to build your portfolio and create content that fit your unique interests.
The Media Arts Production program collaborates across disciplines with other students, faculty, community partners, and industry professionals through internships, workshops, media productions, career networking and leadership experiences.
