Since his retirement in 2001, Dr. Ross has been active in various academic activities at Florida State University (FSU) where he received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in meteorology. He continues to be a research associate in the Department of Earth, Ocean & Atmospheric Science where he has published papers in refereed journals in the areas of tropical meteorology and numerical weather prediction. He has organized several events in the FSU Faculty Luncheon Series and is currently leading the effort to form an interdisciplinary faculty group at FSU. He is also developing a broad course in Climate Change, incorporating perspectives from the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, to be taught in the university's liberal studies program.
