Commencement at Millersville University

All GRADUATES will report to the Anttonen Lobby of Pucillo Gymnasium.

All GUESTS will enter the venue using the north entrance on the west side of the building.

Students who are eligible to graduate will receive an email from the Office of the Provost (officeoftheprovost@millersville.edu) that includes commencement details. The emails will start being sent the week of October 21^st. If you were notified more than a week ago that your application for graduation was approved by the Registrar and you have not received an email yet, please email Kathy Nazarenus at Kathy.Nazarenus@millersville.edu.

Doctoral and Master's candidates, upon arrival, candidates will be directed where to line up to process into the gymnasium.

Doctoral and Master's graduates will be hooded by their graduate coordinator and individually recognized as they walk across the stage, receive a diploma cover and are professionally photographed. 

Undergraduates will report to the Anttonen Lobby of Pucillo Gymnasium to check in for the ceremony and then proceed directly to your seat in the gymnasium, guided by commencement marshals. Undergraduates will be seated by college.

Undergraduates will be individually recognized as they walk across the stage, receive a diploma cover and are professionally photographed.

ALL graduates will walk in a recessional at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Tickets are required for guests to attend the in-person ceremony in Pucillo Gym.

Each graduate will be allotted four (4) guest tickets.

Graduates will be able to pick up their tickets in-person at the MU Ticket Office starting on December 2, 2024 located in the Student Memorial Center.  Tickets will be distributed via the ticket office until Friday, December 13, 2024.

Hours for ticket pick up coincide and match the hours of operation for the University Store.  Graduates are encouraged to plan accordingly with the schedules.

Guest tickets should not be duplicated as each ticket has a unique code on them that will be scanned at the door of the gymnasium.  For this reason, lost tickets cannot be replaced.

You can email Ticket.Sales@millersville.edu from your MU email address if you need to have someone else pick up your tickets.  In the email, please provide your name, MU#, and name of the person that will be picking up your tickets.

REGALIA (CAP & GOWN) ---

Graduates who are participating in the ceremony are required to wear the appropriate regalia which is available for purchase from the University Store.

Doctoral Cap and Gown packages include a black doctoral gown, velvet tam, academic hood, and gold tassel. The total price for this package after tax is $334.96.

Master's Cap and Gown packages include a black master's gown, academic hood, cap, and tassel. The total price for this package after tax is $76.32.

Bachelor's Cap and Gown packages include a black gown, cap, and tassel. The total price for this package after tax is $40.81. If students are expecting honor cords for University Latin Honors, Department Honors, or University Honors College, they will be automatically included in their order for no extra fee.

University Store Hours of Operation: 
Monday – Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

PERSONAL ATTIRE ---

Graduates should plan to arrive at check-in dressed in regalia (cap & gown) and ready to participate in the ceremony.

Graduates should use their own discretion as to what apparel is worn under the gown.  Reminder, you will be professionally photographed which is a lasting image of this special day for you, your family and friends.  

Footwear: Please be advised that you will be walking and standing as well as climbing stairs, so it is recommended that you wear flats or a low wedge heel.

Graduates are encouraged to limit the number of personal items brought in to the gymnasium with you.  The University is not responsible for lost or stolen items left behind.  

 

General parking will be available for all ceremony attendees in all on-campus parking lots.

The Pucillo Gymnasium parking lot is exclusively reserved for guests with special needs, mobility issues, and/or with a state issued handicap placard.  Guests with limited mobility are also able to be dropped off at the entrance as directed by University Police.

Parking will also be available at the Winter Center for Visual and Performing Arts located at 60 West Cottage Avenue where the livestream of the ceremony will occur.  

All on campus parking is open and does not require a parking tag for the event.
