Ryan McGovern joined Millersville University in the Fall of 2019. He is the primary contact athletic trainer for Maurauder field hockey, baseball, cross country and men's and women's golf.
He is a 2014 graduate of Lock Haven University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. He graduated in December 2016 from California University of Pennsylvania, with a Master’s of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion concentration in Sports Psychology.
Prior to coming to Millersville University, McGovern was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Saint Francis University, PA from 2016 to 2019. While at Saint Francis University McGovern had experience working with the Red Flash football, women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, tennis and golf programs. Additionally, he has completed several internships including Shippensburg University and Bucknell University. He also volunteered in the summer of 2017 with the Pittsburgh Steelers during their Organizing Training Activities. McGovern has also volunteered with the Pennsylvania Special Olympics at Saint Francis University and Pennsylvania State University. Most recently he has obtained his National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) - Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) as well as HawkGrips Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization Level 1 Certification (HGP-I).
He is a native of Hamilton, NJ and currently resides in Lancaster, PA.
