About the Exhibition ...
Intimate Realities: Echoes of Womanhood is Aiyana Colon's most recent body of work which focuses on the idea of feminism through varying media. Much of Aiyana's work features the female body in order to appreciate and amplify the beauty of the feminine form. Other pieces tackle harder or more controversial topics such as menstruation, contraception, body shaming, and other situations or events women endure. Aiyana's work strives to enhance women confidence and confront issues not often spoken. She also wishes to normalize things women often feel embarrassed or insecure about due to societal stigmas or expectations.
