Employers have several ways to connect with students and alumni through Career Services. Through our partnership with College Central Network, local businesses have the ability to post employment opportunities for students and alumni of Millersville University College Central Job Bank . By working with the Internships & Civic Engagement Services (ICES), employers gain access to a pool of highly qualified, motivated and prescreened employees. Annually more than 330 students work in large and small businesses, government offices and human services agencies.
The The Department of Applied Engineering, Safety, and Technology has a long tradition of working closely with local businesses. Collaboration with industries to meet their needs is a critical element for the department and is achieved through work with community advisory boards. Faculty within the department also works closely with local businesses on a regular basis as consultants.
The Lancaster Partnership is a collaboration between businesses and the University to provide the means and motivation for minority students within the city of Lancaster to receive their high school diploma, complete a college education and find professional employment opportunities. Millersville University, the School District of Lancaster, and the sponsoring corporations all bring unique strengths to this relationship.
Graduate Professonal Studies (GPS) is committed to providing professional training and education in key fields that reflect the academic strengths of the University and training requirements of the region. The Corporate University works with organizations and businesses to develop customized training solutions. With awards received from the Workforce Investment Board this year, we have trained approximately 200 supervisors in metals manufacturing at companies such as Harley Davidson, General Dynamics, CNH Global, Alcoa, Burnham, Ross Technologies, Osram Sylvania, and others.
The Corporate University, Graduate Studies Office and Lancaster County Community Foundation established a Non-Profit Resource Network at Millersville. The Network will provide organizations with training and education, technical assistance, a resource clearinghouse, research assistance, and other professional development opportunities.
