Rachel Carson Biology Field Scholarship

Sabrina FehrScholarship Recipient: Sabrina Fehr

How will you benefit from receiving the Rachel Carson Biology Field scholarship?

The Rachel Carson Biology Field scholarship assisted me in being able to attend the class coastal environmental oceanography at the Marine Science Consortium in Wallops Island, Va. this summer. Included in this trip was a weeklong field trip to the Keys Marine Lab in the Florida Keys. It was an unforgettable experience and I am so grateful that the Rachel Carson Field Scholarship helped contribute to my education and allowed me to take this class. I learned a lot in the field of oceanography that I could only have learned from experiencing and doing things first hand.

Why did you choose to attend Millersville?

I chose to attend Millersville because of its very successful meteorology and oceanography programs. The professors are very helpful and the friendly atmosphere the campus gives off suited my personality well. The swans Miller and S'ville contributed to this atmosphere!

What are your plans after college?

My plans after college are to get a job in either the field of oceanography or meteorology and continue learning about the topic more in depth.

What about Millersville do you like the best?

My favorite part about Millersville is all of the friends I have made as well as the very good meteorology and oceanography programs. The people in these majors are very close knit and are like my second family while away at school. Everyone is very friendly and helpful! The pond is also one of my favorite places to relax after a long day and just watch the swans, fish and other wildlife surrounding the area.
