International Social Work Field Placement Opportunities

Social Work majors are able to complete their senior field placement abroad during their last semester at Millersville. Social Workers fulfill the Department of Social Work's requirements for their senior placement and take MU courses while conducting their placement in an international location. Students are able to gain professional hands on experience by working with grassroots and/or support organizations.

To complete a Senior field placement abroad, follow the international Social Work Field Placement Process (PDF)

Cost

Students pay MU tuition and the Millersville general and tech fees directly to Millersville. There is an additional non-refundable, non-transferable MU study abroad participation fee and application fee paid directly to Millersville, due at the time of application. Students pay VAC directly for accommodations, including a damage deposit, and a VAC program charge. Millersville will work with students to secure housing with VAC. Meals are the responsibility of the student unless students chose a VAC Meal Plan whereby students would then pay VAC directly.

These charges do not include passport and visa fees, airfare, utilities, possible medical vaccinations or incidental expenses such as laundry, personal travel or entertainment.
