Governance and Policies: General Education Program

The purpose, characteristics, and objectives of the general education program are outlined in the Governance and Policies: General Education Program (PDF).  Faculty members who are considering the development of new general education courses may wish to consult the governance and policies document to better understand the general education program and specific objectives for courses that carry a general education label.

Governance and Policies: General Education Review Committee (GERC)

The General Education Review Committee (GERC) is a standing committee of the faculty senate charged with 1) promoting the understanding of the general education program, and 2)  reviewing, evaluating, and recommending changes to the general education curriculum.  The membership and function of GERC is outlined in the Governance and Policies: GERC (PDF).

 
 
 
 

Governance and Policies: Academic Outcomes Assessment Committee

The Academic Outcomes Assessment Committee is a standing committee of the faculty senate charged with 1) developing and overseeing the implementation of outcomes assessment for the general education program in consultation with GERC, and 2) working with the Assistant Provost for Planning and Assessment to initiate policy recommendations and review proposed policy changes for outcomes assessment of academic programs.  The membership and function of the Academic Outcomes Assessment Committee is outlined in the Governance and Policies: Academic Outcomes Assessment Committee (PDF).
