Community Involvement

Millersville University gives back in a variety of ways.

Millersville University takes great pride in being part of the Millersville Borough and the larger Lancaster County community. Civic engagement, outreach and volunteerism are important parts of a well-rounded education for all students at the 'Ville.

The Centers of University College foster, focus and coordinate civic and community engagement and research. Civic engagement involves efforts to increase understanding, interest, and participation in social, civic, and political institutions among students, faculty, and staff. Community engagement facilitates student development and learning by enabling students to see the impact of community problems and contribute to the resolution of those problems. The Career Center helps connect students with internship, work and service opportunities with employer partners and community-benefit organizations.

Many student-run organizations also make community service a priority for members. The office of Campus Life is the hub for students who want to get involved on campus and in the local community. The University's sororities and fraternities are dedicated to ongoing philanthropic initiatives including blood drives, service projects and events like Relay for Life.
