Latest Forecast

A sprawling high pressure system over the eastern United States will promote sunny and beautiful conditions across the Lower Susquehanna Valley on the last day of meteorological spring. Northwesterly winds will still be sustained at 8-16 mph through 5 PM this afternoon, but gusts will not exceed 20 mph. Thus, scoring conditions should improve for the second round of the U.S. Women's Open at the Lancaster Country Club and be even better on Saturday. The high pressure system will shift into the western Atlantic on Saturday. On its backside, southwesterly flow will usher warmer air back into the region. After another chilly start with lows in the mid 40s to low 50s, temperatures will peak in the low 80s Saturday afternoon. Winds will be light for the third round of the Open and generally remain at or below 5 mph. Clouds will increase Saturday night in advance of a weak disturbance, but isolated showers should not arrive until late Sunday afternoon or evening. The day will be dry in most spots, and the final round of the Open should start on a milder note with lows in the mid-to-upper 50s. Despite mostly cloudy skies, highs Sunday afternoon will be similar to Saturday.
